In addition to revamping the feed — as they are shifting to a most popular posts first order — Instagram is also updating video capabilities. The photo/video sharing platform now wants you to have more time for creativity, in turn allowing up to 60 seconds of video.
Over the last six months, time individuals spent watching Instagram videos increased by 40 percent, as the goal for the longer video option is to, again, allow for more creativity as well as more diverse stories.
In addition, Instagram is bringing back the ability to make videos out of multiple clips. This will only be available for iOS, however.
Longer video on Instagram begins rolling out today and will be available for everyone in the coming months. Multi-clip video is available this week for iOS.
